Embodying Rivers ~ by Clare Dubois

Surrender is such an interesting word. How would it be, to trust the intelligence of life so much, that we might actually stop trying to control, and instead, lean back consciously and let ourselves be carried? As I explore this edge of dissolving into communion with nature, I am struck again and again by the astonishing teachers that surround us in every moment, if only we will wake up and allow ourselves to be permeated by life.

The rivers are one such teacher. I just ran a series of three full moon calls Embodying River, Embodying Earth and Embodying Sky - and they taught me so much in the offering and then in my own listening. So much so, that I woke up to more, and had to return to the River again for a second journey into different dimensions of its gifts.

smallpost We explored River as metaphor for our own vital life force and capacity to love - the flow itself as the receptive, responsive feminine principle and the river bed and banks as the holding, containing and directing masculine principle - the reality that both are needed in balance to be in wholeness and health.

Then we explored how we dam our own flow - diminish our own life force and freedom and become used to the trickle where once a mighty river let loose its fullness. This felt like SUCH a potent place to bring awareness collectively - and it is to this place that we shall return another four times - at least.

When I was in the Swiss Alps a week or so ago, I was having astonishing realisations and experiences that I shall write about in another blog coming up soon. But curiously, I kept hearing a set of words going round and round in my head as I walked higher and higher:

'I am health, wealth and beauty - I am all life incarnate - I am everything - I am now.'

Personally I have issues in the areas of health, wealth and beauty so felt like I was being asked to put attention in those areas and invoke a different possibility. The words 'I am all life incarnate' also landed in fertile ground within me, because over the last six months, I have been becoming increasingly aware of the non human DNA that we are apparently full of, that is considered redundant, but actually comprises the DNA of all other living beings on this planet. As I've been merging more and more with nature, I've found myself wondering about the latent intelligence of our species, and if we could actually activate the intelligence of all other species within our own genetic makeup - whether we would instinctively become caretakers of all life - or still seek to dominate and trash.

Tu Hoga Samandar-E-Ishq Kisi Aur K Liye

I'm leaning towards the former as our evolutionary imperative - so yes to those words and the invitation therein. So as I explored the dams of my own River, I wondered about our collective feminine dams around health, wealth and beauty - and the potency and power that could live through us if we were to open to ourselves as all life incarnate. A wild thought - but I am not comfortable with the current human expression as consumers, when our consciousness has such magnificence, subtlety and capacity for love.

We're capable of so much more.

So the next four full moon calls are going to be River journeys - opportunities to lay back and surrender into our vital life force and capacity to love as energies that can undo us back into wholeness - and then to use that flow to bring awareness and healing to the areas that we have dammed up and blocked, so that we can let ourselves loose again.

These just thrill some deeper part of me and I can't wait :) . You will find them all on the Facebook events page here. So - if you missed Embodying River, you can listen to it here - and then you'll know where we are going next... Looking forward to your company as we dissolve into more of who we were each born to be.
