Wisdom Circle: Feminine Nature Based Leadership Part Two
Feminine Nature-Based Leadership is the lifeblood of everything we do at TreeSisters. In this blog series Clare is exploring the principles that guide this unique form of leadership and how we can all bring it alive in our day to day lives.
Having started writing and imagining that I would be able to articulate everything that has been inside me within one blog, I quickly realized that this would need to be several. So, if this topic touches you, then reading Part One may give you a conceptual launching pad before I meander off down a different pathway! It will at least give you my initial answer to the question posed in the title.
So, let's look more deeply at the words themselves because Nature Based Feminine Leadership can intentionally be read and defined in slightly different ways, both of which are embedded invitations. One says, this is leadership born of Feminine Nature. So what exactly is 'Feminine Nature?' The other says this is 'Nature Based Leadership' that is specifically 'Feminine'.
So let's break them down.
I touched on my definition of 'Feminine Nature' in Part One, and it's definition is going to be very personal to every woman so in a way I hesitate to define it here. However, it matters that we try to clarify our interpretation as it arises through the TreeSisters work and ethos, so I'll have a go!
In the car crash that gave me TreeSisters I heard 'feminine consciousness has to be reinstated or it's over.' That can be seen as something that needs to arise through both men and women, but I don't see it's leadership being able to arise through men. Women will need to incubate, recreate, redefine and rebirth feminine consciousness en masse within our world so that the masculine has a chance to rediscover its new identify next to ours.
To do that, we first need to reclaim our true Feminine Nature as it 'actually' is, and not as yet another version on a theme of how we have been culturally conditioned to misperceive and contort ourselves in order to secure safety within a patriarchal world. I see Feminine Nature as indivisible from feminine consciousness and so I will generalize here to offer its fragrance and you can see what you resonate with, disagree with or find missing.
To me, Feminine Nature is heart based, loving, relational and in connection. It is essentially the willingness and ability to be receptive and thus to 'feel' how things are. In its fullness, it manifests as a sensitivity and feeling awareness of and care for other - whether one's partner, team, family (community, country and ecosystem) because it feels its indivisibility and profound connection to all things. Thus, any man or woman operating strongly out of their feminine nature will love and care at the fullest level that she/he is able to open themselves to feel, care and respond while and still managing the day to day.
That relational tendency when directed lovingly towards other women can create astonishing bonds of sisterhood that in and of themselves can become a gateway to other levels of consciousness. The Feminine is mutable, receptive, reflective, can merge with, surrender to, dissolve into - and as such can expand more easily beyond perception of individual self into the sea of collective consciousness.
This then shines a different light on the potential of women's circles as catalytic happenings of profound importance. Alone, in our natural state, women are a force of nature. When women gather, more consciously aware of the innate Feminine capacities that can be activated within ourselves and each other, what is intrinsically Feminine within us can be leant into as a gateway to so much more of ourselves and of life's limitless intelligence. Together, we can choose to consciously merge our energies in ways that activate and open our connection to creation that can birth entirely different qualities of perception and thus leadership.
The archetypal happening of a women's circle has encoded within its structure, the deep knowing that togetherness can call forth wisdom's much greater than the sum of its parts. We just have to be prepared to come together to decloak our brilliance, call each other forth, dip into the mystery, prepare to not know and then make ourselves available to a different quality of greater all encompassing intelligence.
Feminine Nature must also describe the nature of Nature, because to me they are also essentially indivisible. I'll lean into that in Part Three! (this is me attempting to produce shorter offerings that can be digested more easily) meanwhile, it would be amazing to hear how all of this is landing or not landing with you, and to hear a little of what it provokes....
