NATURE CONNECTION.

"We are not in nature. We are nature. When we are truly aware of this, we can create harmony rather than destruction."
— Thich Nhat Hanh

We are a grassroots movement for those who recognise the vital importance of living in deeper harmony with the Earth.

Reconnection is the missing piece that links many of the challenges and crises we face as a species. Our current systems of power have already caused immense harm, and if we want a living future, we must move beyond extraction and exploitation before it’s too late.

Only by remembering that we belong to the Earth can we begin to live differently, stay within ecological limits, and build a future that is truly better and more sustainable for all the species that share our planet.

Getting Started

Reconnection does not demand that we become botanists, tree huggers, or learn the intracieties of the lunar cycles. Instead, it is about rekindling relationship: shifting from seeing Nature as a backdrop, destination or worse, a commodity to recognising ourselves as part of her living, breathing community.

The journey back begins with simple, intentional steps.
Here are just a few easy practices to bring more connection into your daily life.

STEP OUTSIDE WITH AWARENESS

Notice Nature wherever you are. In our modern tech-heavy world and concrete urban landscapes, it is easy to feel disconnected but Nature is everywhere. Even if it is just a few minutes between tasks, pause. Notice the air on your skin, the birdsong, the shifting sky. This simple act of presence is connection.

NATURE ADVOCACY.

TreeSisters believes Nature is deserving of inherent rights—just like people. These rights include the right to exist, thrive, and regenerate. Our approach is not just about following Nature’s wisdom but actively advocating for her legal rights.

As the global movement for Nature’s legal personhood grows, we stand alongside it, working to protect and restore ecosystems for future generations. Our efforts honour these rights by restoring balance and ensuring Nature’s voice is heard.

Nature advocacy can take many forms. You don’t need a law degree to start standing up for Nature today.

Nature advocacy and the recognition of all life as sacred and interconnected are fundamental to many Indigenous cultures and traditional ecological knowledge. TreeSisters honours and amplifies the voices and leadership of Indigenous peoples as the original caretakers of the planet, recognising their essential role in protecting over 80% of the world’s remaining biodiversity. We stand in support of their leadership in environmental restoration and advocate for the protection of Indigenous lands and rights. Learn More.

LEARNING FROM OTHERS.

TreeSisters has a long history of alliances and partnerships with Indigenous and Original people - many of whom have successfully lived in harmony with their lands for millennia.
In a series of interviews, we invited guests to share their viewpoints, challenges and nature-led ancestral knowledge to highlight alternative ways of living with our world, share learnings, and provide space to support and get involved.
