MARITZA CENTENO FROM THE MATAGALPA

About the interview

We are delighted to welcome Maritza Centeno from the Matagalpa community in Nicaragua to the series. Martiza is a Nicaraguan indigenous and spiritual leader who also founded a women’s coffee co-operative in La Laguna that includes 23 indigenous women owner-workers.

Martiza has previously been invited to speak at the UN and sees her homeland currently being deforested by miners in search of gold.

From her inspirational work for indigenous rights to growing a co-operative that empowers women in their efforts to save the land and with a special blessing to close, we hope you will join us in celebrating this beautiful soul and conversation.

With a special thanks to guest host Eva Iglesias who translates for us and helps to spread their work and message.
